With today being the Feast (okay, obligatory memorial) of Saint Barnabas, how many of you who went to Mass this morning heard the first Eucharistic Prayer? It starts, "We come to you, Father, with praise and thanksgiving..."We were taught in the seminary that it's a nice thing to use EP#1 on the feastdays of those who are specifically mentioned within the prayer. I used it at Mass this evening and Mass was still under a half hour.

St. Barnabus didn't get a look in... I went to a Mass in the usus antiquior which meant that we got to celebrate Corpus Christi...

EP II at Mass today, Ab libbed too.
EP II at my Mass too, however at parish I attend in the summer, the Pastor uses the all Eucharistic Prayers. He follows the cycle of the Liturgy of Hours. Week I, Eucharistic Prayer I...It is a beautiful thing to hear them all used.
