Our "Catholic" Speaker of the House: Contraception needed (until the economy gets better)

This comes to us from Drudge Report.  And, with an homage to Father Z., my emphases are in red:

PELOSI SAYS BIRTH CONTROL WILL HELP ECONOMY
Sun Jan 25 2009 22:13:43 ET

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi boldly defended a move to add birth control funding to the new economic "stimulus" package, claiming "contraception will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government."

Pelosi, the mother of 5 children and 6 grandchildren, who once said, "Nothing in my life will ever, ever compare to being a mom," seemed to imply babies are somehow a burden on the treasury.

The revelation came during an exchange Sunday morning on ABC's THIS WEEK.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?

PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. (None of which will see their budgets drop if we stop conceptions from taking place.  If Speaker Pelosi is true to those intentions, then the answer is to kill children aged age 1 through perhaps 7.  They're the ones who need immunizations and schooling)  One of those - one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government. (and I bet Herod's kingdom's economy improved, right?)

STEPHANOPOULOS: So no apologies for that?

PELOSI: No apologies. No. we have to deal with the consequences of the downturn in our economy. (in other words, "You didn't buy enough iPods or make good on your mortgages, therefore you must be punished.")

How about we apply that "stimulus" to reduce the cost of having children.
Also, I would like to see someone address how these synthetic hormones (from birth control) are getting into our water and the impact they are having on us.
Her reasoning is terribly flawed. And also very selfish.

OK, Now I'm going to say my two bits:

1--Mrs. Pelosi is obviously not only in the threall ov Evil, but not too bright as well.

2--I don't think her Ordinary will do anything. he hasn't so far.

I have no idea where this "logic" comes from... lowering our birth rate further will only increase the economic struggle down the road (thus prolonging the financial mess we're in - if we hadn't killed off 50 million of our citizens through abortion this financial "crisis" would be very different) - in order for things to bought and sold, in order for taxes to be paid and businesses to hire workers -- there have to be people! People don't just appear full-grown...

But what really gets me is how someone can claim to be Catholic, and yet obviously not believe anything the Church teaches...

I came the conclusion quite some time ago, before her lessons on abortion, that the woman was a ditz.

I think it was when she was praising the house because although they didn't pass anything substantive they did pass a bill to upgrade the parks and beautify the city (don't remember which city she was referring to - she's in cali so maybe one of their cities). The woman's eyes lit up like it was the best thing since sliced bread. No offense to parks, at least the laid off workers should have a well manicured lawn to sleep on.
