Step away from the Pork Roll!

It almost happened! I had to run a few errands this morning: get a haircut, pick up an alb at the cleaners. My last stop was to cash in two winning scratch-off lottery tickets I had bought at a local convenience store (the grand prize? 2 dollars). While I was there I thought I'd buy my lunch early, and had the man make me a porkroll and cheese on a hard roll. I came back to the rectory, put my stuff down, and figured I'd check my e-mails before sitting down to lunch. So here I was, when all of a sudden it hit me:

TODAY IS A FRIDAY OF LENT!!!!!!!!!

So here's the situation: I'm in my office writing this blog entry, and in my room, sitting next to my chair, is a perfectly fine porkroll and cheese on a hard roll.

Now I can't go to my room. Why? Because even down the hall and around the corner from my room, I can hear that sandwich calling me, teasing me, tempting me to rationalize that it would be a bigger sin to waste the food.

So what to do? Put it in the fridge and wait for tomorrow.

Don't you just love Lent? Anyone for pizza?
