Most of the staff was Catholic (Rudy was a Croat from Minnesota's Iron Range). We were all stunned. (We were more stunned when we lost a few weeks later).<BR/><BR/>I was particularly affected. My Polish father had just died about two weeks earlier. With the news, I felt somewhat less sad about his loss because I knew that had he lived a bit longer, his heart would have burst with joy upon hearing that a Pole was on the Seat of Peter. <BR/><BR/>And I was glad that, had he survived heart palpitations of joy, I wouldn't have had to hear him talk about the Polish Pope every waking moment of his life from then on.<BR/><BR/>Welcome to St Blog's Parish, Father.
